The Department faculty consists of thirteen tenure-track faculty and three instructors. The majority of the over 300 biology majors are part of the Pre-Health Professions Program. The Department also has a masters program with tracks in Ecology and Conservation Biology and Cell and Molecular Biology. The faculty are very committed to the teacher-scholar model and are passionate teachers and dedicated research scientists. We have outstanding facilities, which recently underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation of all classrooms and research laboratories. The Department promotes a close relationship with their students both in the classroom and our research laboratories. Many of the majors have gone on to outstanding careers in medicine, scientific research and environmental management.
